In June 2018, new management took over Anderson Shumaker. The new owners have a combined 60 years of open die forging experience and are both degreed engineers. As a result, they wasted no time in jumping right into the swing of things. For example, they brought in not only a wealth of industry knowledge, but new and exciting ideas. Most importantly, they share our dream of continuing our 100+ year tradition of being a leader in open die forging.
Anderson Shumaker: History
Founded in 1902 by Swedish forge-master Carl Anderson, Anderson Shumaker is an open die forging company. We are located in Chicago, Illinois. We specialize in forging bars, blocks, discs, hubs, rings, and custom shapes. Similarly, our shop facilities offer many secondary processing options. Examples include heat treating, rough machining, saw cutting, hole boring, destructive & non-destructive testing, and finish machining. We also specializes in hard-to-find and low-to-mid volume materials. Therefore, we carry a stock inventory of popular grades to quickly forge.
New Management: Upgrades
In just 6 short months, Anderson Shumaker has already instituted many strategic, competitive upgrades. For instance, we’ve additional equipment and increased production capabilities. Our new management also hired additional specialty personnel and brought in expert consultants. As a result, we’ve expanded sales in several key markets, upgraded our marketing materials, and launched a newly refreshed website. We’ve even added a second shift to keep up with the increased demand of our growing business.
As 2019 looms on the horizon, we’re looking forward to even more improvements in the coming year. Our future under new management looks very bright!
