What is a Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) Certification?
In short, a PED certification sets the standards for the design and fabrication of pressure equipment to meet all necessary safety standards. It is typically required for oil & gas field equipment, although many industries rely on PED certified equipment. This certification is key to selling manufactured equipment in the European Union (EU). For example, a PED certification removes the technical barriers associated with selling pressure equipment internationally. Most importantly, this means that Anderson Shumaker’s pressure equipment is already approved for sale in all 28 EU countries. Therefore, our pressure equipment does not have to be tested in each EU country.
