Summer Lovin’, Had Us a Blast (Furnace)

Anderson Shumaker really had a blast this summer. While Chicago’s weather was thankfully mild, we kept things hot on the shop-floor. From hosting tasty company barbeques, celebrating our 1-year new management anniversary, and earning coveted company certifications, we really had a fantastic summer!

This June we proudly celebrated our 1-year anniversary under new management. Over the past year, Anderson Shumaker’s new owners made positive and strategic improvements to operations, sales, and administration. For example, they added additional forge shop equipment, streamlined and increased production capabilities, expanded into new sales markets, and even launched a new, mobile-friendly website. Internally, they upgraded office technology and process systems. Most importantly, the owners invested in Anderson Shumaker’s workforce. They hired talented employees to add to the existing workforce and brought in a few expert consultants. Because of these efforts, the company achieved record-breaking sales this July. Keeping the momentum of this positive growth, we’re adding even more new technology and personnel in the coming months.

In addition to the above achievements, Anderson Shumaker earned both an AD9100 and a PED certification. These certifications allow us to enter new sales markets and become a global supplier. Another fun happening was the addition of our new grilling deck located right off the shop floor. Now employees have a pleasant spot to eat lunch or take a break (we’ve already christened it with 2 company-wide barbeques). To summarize, all this (and more!) helps Anderson Shumaker continue our 100+ year tradition of being a leader in open-die forging.
